Application of AI Seminar at NITS Polytechnic, Miran Sahib, Jammu
Artificial Intelligence is no longer a futuristic concept—it has become an integral part of our daily lives, industries, and professional ecosystems. To help students understand the growing impact and opportunities of AI, an online Power Seminar on the topic “Application of AI” was organized for the students of NITS Polytechnic in collaboration with ICT Academy.
I (IT Consultant Vivek Mahajan) had the privilege of serving as the key speaker for this engaging one-hour session, where students were introduced to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, the rise of Generative AI, and the transformative role AI is playing across various sectors of society and industry.
The seminar began with an introduction to the concept of Artificial Intelligence and its evolution over the decades. Students explored how AI systems are designed to simulate human intelligence through learning, reasoning, decision-making, and natural language understanding. The discussion also covered the different categories of AI including Narrow AI, General AI, and Superintelligent AI.
A major highlight of the session was the discussion on Generative AI, one of the fastest-growing areas in technology today. Students were introduced to AI systems capable of generating text, images, music, videos, and even computer code, demonstrating how these technologies are reshaping creativity and productivity worldwide. The seminar also explored the key categories of generative AI tools and their applications in fields such as content creation, programming assistance, design, marketing, and media production.
AI in Everyday Life
The seminar helped students recognize how deeply AI has already become embedded in everyday experiences. From smartphone face recognition and navigation systems to streaming recommendations, smart assistants, and intelligent home devices, AI is quietly powering many conveniences of modern life. Students were encouraged to observe how AI influences their daily routines and digital interactions.
AI in Healthcare and Medicine
One of the most fascinating segments focused on the role of AI in healthcare. The session highlighted how AI-powered imaging systems assist doctors in diagnosing diseases, how predictive analytics improves treatment planning, and how AI accelerates drug discovery and robotic-assisted surgeries.
